Small Business Saturday FREE Event-Ornament Painting
Small Business Saturday
Why Should You Shop Small?
For small business owners, their business is not just a business — it’s an extension of who they are. Supporting the local businesses within your community not only keeps those businesses alive, but keeps the communities they serve thriving, as well. With more and more online shopping these small businesses are in jeopardy.
This year, shop at your local bakery, restaurant, coffee shop, boutique or neighborhood store rather than shopping at a national chain. Shopping local matters because it affects the entire community. When more money is spent at local stores, more money stays within the community. For every dollar spent at a small business, 67 cents stays within your local economy. In addition to helping schools and other organizations through taxes, small businesses are also often the organizations that support local sports teams, charities and events. Plus, local retailers are more likely to hire locally than retail chains.

Sunday October 26th 2025, 9:30-4:30
Cost $80
Are you up for a challenge? This class will use this drawing provided by the instructor for this vignette. “Vignette” means “incomplete” as areas of the paper will remain unpainted. Paul will share his reference briefly to discuss his design. If it is not your habit to make a sketch, this will help you see the benefits of the process. The drawing will be blocked out in pencil followed by the ink line using a wooden match.
Along with Paul’s guidance, the drawing is created for the afternoon painting session. At 3:30 an evaluation will be held on the day’s work.
See the supplies list for specific items. Matches and holders will be provided.
